Gary, that looks pretty nice.
I'll download that aircraft on completion of this.

The field looks like Emma Field (about 33nm east of Seattle.)
It's a great little field and I've flown lots of aeroplanes out of there (up to and including the DC-7....not with a load of course!!!)

In FS2002 there was an engineer named Fritz Deters working away in the hangar and he was always directing you where to park.

A perfect airfield to fly experimental and low powered aircraft from.

At the moment I've got him working on repowering a Cessna 206 with a 400hp Lycoming IO-720. I'm looking forward to flying it.

I suppose that your Auster was the one step before the J-1?

Not one step Tony - they also built D, E, F, G, H, and J models for military use during the war. The J1 was the first of the post-war Austers for private civilian sales.
You'll find the complete lineage in 'Austers-General Information' when you downloaded the aircraft.
For me, the perfect field for test flying the builds is Rearby X3RB Leicestershire U.K. where they were originally built. This doesn't exist in FSim, so we built our own copy - available in the scenery section of the files library.

Great job Gary

She looks quite at home in the wilds of Washington.

A testament to Dave, Brian and Martin and of course your own work! and to Peter the Painter.

I'm actually quite happy since I found the scenery files that enabled the reopening of Croydon Aerodrome (EGCR).
What was the main field at Paris at that time?
It probably predated LFPG by decades?
I'm looking to establishing a regular service between London and Paris.
A chance to try out all of our ancient airliners, one reason for my enthuisiasm for obtaining a DH-83 Foxmoth.

I think the main Paris airport in those days was Le Bourget. Do I understand that there's a good Croydon available?

Rats! Why won't anything work properly first time?

There is a freeware Croydon available on flightsim.com.
It's got hangars and three grass runways.
The download includes two other fields in the immediate area also.
