As Mark knows my prefered FSX Spit is the A2A Spit Mk1A. In fact you've inspired me to get it out of the hanger now.

I prefer more "grunt".I find earlier marks somewhat "skittish"too,another reason why I prefer
a 60/70 series two stage two speed Merlin version or a Griffon.

The MkIXc/e,PR.XI or LF XVIe highback are my favorite Merlins,especially with the broadchord rudder,the XIV,XVIII or XIX for a Griffon Spit.
That bigger pointy rudder makes for easier handling and taxying in a breeze too.

My real big,big favorites of the breed are the Seafire XVII with the "short" Griffon VI and
the ferocious F/FR.47 with the big Griffon and contra prop though.
