There seems to be some folks who can not download the full file so here is a secondary link
Please could you leave a note when you use this link so Rob can keep an eye on the number of downloads

Thanks

Leif

The problem seems to be with the amount of traffic on internet not just here at the Pond

for those having problems here is the Alvis Leonides Sound pack link

Rob, with a bit of jiggery pokery I am using your reflective model for the white and silver RAF Khormaksar and reserved for a Philippine Airlines paint if anyone does one, and the non reflective model for flat camo jobs all in the same base folder with a aircraft.cfg to utilise both

This internet problem is interesting (in a way) yesterday downloaded the Twin Pin OK & a bit later went to download Gary's Alvis sounds - got to 10 MB & it stopped, speed was reasonable at about 80KB/sec (my max is 125KB/sec = 1 Mb broadband on copper wire).
This morning downloaded the Alvis sounds no problem at all & then tried the BE sounds twice with no luck, was speed OK, so maybe either the servers at ones provider ( or en route servers) have a max quantity limit, or I was unlucky to pick a time when everybody else is waking up!

Hi Rich,
have spotted that problem and already uploaded new model with updates.
As for reflective textures it should be the one you have, the pic below is of a download from this site.

Hi Rich,
I don't have any problem selecting and flying any of the repaints and the latest model from Rob is not shiny on my FSX Acceleration installation! If I modify the texture cfg file to add 2 more lines referring to 'fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture' the high gloss finish appears! I tried this on the silver/white Aden paint. When I removed the 2 lines the matt finish reappeared. This is all very weird - maybe I should stick to FS9!

cheers, Peter

Peter, there's a problem with your lovely XM289 repaint.

The text you have included refers to texture folder "texture.XM284" so it actually doesn't show up in FSX until spotted and altered.

You might like to update it before the complaints come piling in :)

Like the paint - looks great in comparison to the dull modern RAF ones.

Thanks for the HU. I have asked Leif to replace the readme file. The perils of copy and paste without double checking! Glad you liked the paint anyway.

Rob,

I am new to the Forum and wanted to thank you for an excellent "Twin Pioneer" model.

A quick quesiton, if I may. The altimeter appears to have three needles, presumably measuring feet in 100s, 1000s and 10,000s. The 100' needle doesn't appear to be working. Is this so, and is there a fix?

Regards
Andrew Godden

Just took it up to 11000 ft works in my setup, which needle are you classing as the 100 ft it should be I think the longest the shortest being 10000.

On the subject of Twin Pins would one or other of our expert painters want to take a crack at this one ?

Not a good job but the best I could manage on Mike Stones model, the paint was chipped off Garry Russell's PAL Viscount for the colours so the shades should be right.

Here's hoping
