Julian

Your working speaks for itself, the guys around here just have a habit of adding to model, you seemed very apologetic about using "stock gauges" in the FoxMoths panel, Who better than Lars to provide the needed instruments without spoiling the effect.

Dave Molyneaux's Austers are also something of a group effort, Brian Horsey waves his magic wand and makes the flight model believable for the Austers, (And yes they are all a bit diifferent), None of the models would be built without Martin Pengelly's excellent reference library, and of course Gary Jones has done miracles with sound files, his latest will capture the Agricola's throaty roar of the Continental 0-420.

So this has become a bit of a Cooperative, everyone provides a little something to the basic mix and the
Flight Sim.

Jeepers ! that takes me back :).
Back to when the world was young and I wore short trousers, I had my very first flight in a Fox Moth off Southport beach ! . The aircraft was G-ACEJ , colour unknown because the old photo I have is in B/W :(.
Must have been the same one.
Cheers

Had an email this morning from UncleTgt who mainly uses Lindsay Watts forum & Sim_outhouse .
He has done a conversion of the Fox for CFS which looks rather nice.
Hopefully he should have it available to D/L soon as i've given him permission to upload it

Re: De Havilland Fox Moth 4 years 2 months ago #34019

Hi guys,

I do repaints & other stuff for CFS 2 only, however I can always offer up a set here saved in the correct format for FS_9.;)

Anyone want to let me know which format is best?

btw the screenie is a best guess repaint for MA955 (build nr unknown). Whilst reading through Christopher Shores "Air War for Burma", the third part of his "Bloody Shambles" series, I came across a single entry about CASEVAC flights during the Battle of the Admin Box, FEB'44. It said they used Stintson L-1 & L-5, Tiger & Fox Moths. It sparked my interest, & then I found Julian's Fox Moth it became the impetus to see if I could get it into CFS 2.

It seems MA955 was working for 3 TAF communications flight, so it's my best guess of it's appearance during this time.

I've also drafted up another speculative appearance for one of the Fox Moth's destroyed by the Japs at Lae aerodrome in January 1942.
