Cheers, Jan!

Would that winter one be the all white with lots of green squiggles? A real painters challenge!

regards, Peter

I was going to say it's a Hirth inverted V8,so it's either a Fieseler Storch
or a Focke-Wulf Stosser, but Uncle Pete has beaten me to it

I originally though Mark Birkigt's lovely Hispano-Suiza V8 or the old Curtiss OX-5,
but then I realised it was inverted.
The Hisso and OX-5 sit upright and the OX-5 has open valve gear, both are
also water cooled, whereas the Hirth is air-cooled.

Doesn't that Tamiya Storch come with a Kubel too Jan?
That mirror-wave cammo should be easy enough with your airbrush......................:pinch:

BTW,the first of the Spits(MK356)will be done soon.

Nice work Jan.

By the way I didn't have a clue what engine it was. Lucky I'm on a diet and trying to avoid alcohol (not entirely successfully).

its going to get crowded at flossies... I like that! A Spitfire for everyone!!! The Bottle of Britain that is...

I guess the winterpainting just needs a thin green/darkgreen coat, let it dry for week and then drypaint the white on it... in theory

I heard you can get a pretty detailed PE-set for it.. complete with trimchains etc... I think thats a level too high for me...

Go for that PE set Jan.

The stuff is so easy to use.

Here's what I'd try to get that streaky dirty white finish, because the winter white was a
"distemper",i.e it was water based and wore off quite easily.

I'd paint the Storch in it's standard two greens and underside blue splinter cammo first, put the decals
on and fix 'em all in but leave it gloss.
Then use something like a Tamiya acrylic white primer misted on until you're happy
with the amount of coverage.
Acrylic can be washed off with water(it's water based),so use damp brushes and cotton buds to
wipe it off the markings and produce the streaky white finish.

Once you're happy with it,then shoot a coat of matt varnish at it to seal everything in.

Today I finally found time (and rest) to close the fuselage... here some pictures from building the interior to put the metal strut in place and first trila of closing the canopy before masking everything of. Some job I can tell you. I have to manually cut all the little pieces of masking tape of. Tamiya didn't pre-cut them...
