Ah ! that's an easy one 
When their manufacturing licence with Taylorcraft (U.S.) finished, they decided not to renew it but to go it alone and hence renamed the company Auster Aircraft Ltd. This was on the 8th March 1946 coincident to them moving their main factory to Rearsby Leicestershire.
