I have just tried to down load the Vampire and Hastings for FSX yet again after some sucessful downloads i am now told : this is not a valid File : Why does this happen to some aircraft downloads and not others there must be a reason
It seems to be a problem with a lot of ISP's that
bandwidth is being limited somewhere.
We've checked,re-checked and double re-checked our
servers at this end to see if we have a problem and
we haven't.
I personally have been having a hell of a lot of grief with my ISP
just recently.
I was with Tiscali on a good solid 8Mb unlimited package
that consistantly ran at a good 6 meg plus
,they've been taken over by Talk-Talk and I'm lucky some days if I can pull
2Mb.
Somedays it's so bad that I can't even reply with one line to an
e-mail before the connection drops, they're that bad.
Now if I'm having those problems,so are a lot of other people,
so please, please check that your connection is doing what it
should be and keep trying to download from us.
Maybe try at a different time of day or night??
Try an internet speed checker, there's a few good ones online
to make sure you're getting what you should in the way of
download and upload speeds and that your connection is holding.
I've a good Sendspace account, but I know that if I try to upload the files you
want to there, the connection will time out before they've even got
halfway, things are that crappy with the internet at the moment.

Hi Whirlwind,
I am having problems with broadband speed in my area at the moment, Cambridgshire, and have been told by my ISP that the problem is widespread, I uploaded the Vampire yesterday ,in what I like to describe as a "window of opportunity", so if your in the UK just keep trying and you'll get the files.
If it helps i have just downloaded the Hastings via avsim with no problems which is a relief as it clears any fault my end and i dont have to see the witch Doctor
Ok so i need the acceleration pack , i only have SP 1 & 2 , well i will have to get the pack . Thanks for every thing i appreciate all you do for us flight simmers T

However, this doesn't rule out a fault outside of the CBF server. If anything, it simply localizes the fault more. It means that the problem is somewhere either at your ISP and its connections to the outside world, or it's a problem with one of the pipelines. With you being in South Africa and the problems that exist north of you, the number of pipelines available to Europe are few, and thus can get interrupted or congested very easily. You'll probably find that if you did a tracert on an IP address in the UK, you'd get very high ping times and to the US or even Australia, you'd get a much more reasonable ping.
If you want to see what your connection speed is, there are several out there to do it. www.speedtest.net/ is the one I use most often and it lets you choose a server in a specific location to check against, so you can see if the problem is outside your ISP or with your ISP.
I'm on a 10mb download/5mb upload connection. As you can see, between the latency near 300 (should be less than 150) and the very low download rate, the problem is somewhere between me and South Africa. My guess is that if you do the test between yourself and the UK, you'll see a connection as bad or worse.
Oh yes, the downloads that tire before completion.
The Auster J-5Alpine is that latest that I've tried several times, but failed.
Assistance would be appreciated here.
I did download a scenery this morning and I think that it is set up alright now.
I must start up FS2004 and find out?
Try downloading the J5 Alpine again. I have been into the backroom and done some minor tweaking. I would be obliged if you could post your findings here.
