good evening gentlemen, my name is Rui cristina,
and I'm new around here.
Only lately has my FS interest returned, been away for a while...started with Barry Blaisdell, joined Project Freeware later, where I kept learning a few more things, had my first payware experience, with Dreamfleets/Flight 1 Boeing 727, master textures, and returned to freeware with those great guys at AFG.Helped with the YS-11, Beechcraft 200, and finally with the french Caravelle, which took us 3 years...I wanted to leave a very high quality product, just like the 727 but this time freeware, to the FS community....now I'm slwloy coming back, new computer, also helps...and looking for someone willing to create a nicely shaped Airspeed Ambassador, no need for a lot of stuff, just a nicely designed model, with textures by "moi"
any good willing designer with some free time interested !?!? PLEASE!?!?!

Having been involved in FS model production yourself you will know that it takes a lot of time to develop even a 'simple' model in GMax or FSDS. Nowadays though people expect highly detailed models with fully working virtual cockpits etc etc.
I know that, like me, every designer here has a list of projects on their priority 'to-do' list and building new models of acceptable existing FS aircraft must come very low on the list unless there's a real need.
So I suspect a new Ambassador is probably a non-starter.

My dear Dave...things may change soon...been browsing the net, and found (purchased) two Airspeed Ambassadors manuals, the FLIGHT MANUAL and the OPERATIONS MANUAL...scanned in a couple of DVDs...
these will go straight to a very good friend for a look...the Ambassador may become a reality...

yes, modelling takes a huge amount of time, as texturing....I was nicknamed the pixelguy, yes, every single pixel needs to be properly aligned for maximum enjoyment, and if the visual model is acurate, this is a bliss !
All I asked was for a smoother and rounder nose tip, and to add some "glass effect" to the windows on the model...its god, but not perfect....as for panels, if I have a simple and effective 2Dpanel, together with a great visual model, I'm happy, no need for a VC.....
But if anybody has some good pictures from the cockpit of an Ambassador, please let me see it....if I knw that the Duxford AS57 has a detailed cockpit interior, I'd consider a visit on my next trip to the UK...mmmhhh...why not !?))

I love big pistons,the old Ambassador was a real classic(I can just remember them in their final years
at Manchester in the mid 1960's).

Please keep us posted,I'd like to see this one grow if you can do it,and if you need a test pilot,then
give me a shout.
I've quite a few hours on t'other Ambassador,DC 6&7's,Daks,Garry's Bristol Freighter and another Centaurus powered honey,Pete Forster's fabulous Sea Fury FB.11.
