For those interested, I've uploaded some historical repaints to the SimOuthose of the Dh88, more will follow as time allows. These are for FS9, I know there is now an FSX version, I have no idea if the mapping remains intact or if they'll work correctly.
I've checked Jaimie's DH88 beautiful paints from independant sources, out of interest Leif (no offence Jamie ) and there were just five Comets built -
G-ACSP ----> CS-AAJ
G-ACSR ----> F-ANPY
G-ACSS ----> K-5084
G-ADEF
F-ANPZ
Cheers

I've been lucky enough to have sat in G-ACSS when visiting Old Warden once and helped in the initial rebuild of G-ACSP when she was being rebuilt in Cornwall in the late 1980s. Remember sourcing some Gypsy Queens for her.
To tell the truth, have only flown the FS2004 version once and that was recently on the hunt for a suitable engine for the A2/45. Perhaps now with these repaints, I have a very good excuse to trying the type for a lot longer!!
Interesting that she -ACSS - was put onh scrap heap only to be ressurected & hung in a Museum until rescued by Shuttleworth. My uncle was a licenced engineer & was at the time of the rebuild responsible for the aircraft at Shuttleworth, but was not happy with the state of the wing spars after years of neglect & managed to sweet talk the RAE at Farnborough into having the wings totally rebuilt by the 'chippies' there. They had I think just finished rebuilding the SE5A. I remenber seeing the wings being rebuilt in the early eighties, & on my last day at Farnboro ( May '86), I saw the wings being shipped out back to Old Warden!
I expect the rebuilt wings are better than the original build!

Just a side note, I've mentioned this @ the Outhouse, but not here. Whilst I've made my best attempt to keep these as accurate as possible, a little artistic license has had to be taken here and there due to the texture mappings on the model. I still think they are reasonable representations all things considered.
many thanks for the comments,
Jamie
PS. if anyone has any info regarding the location of the 'Reine Astrid' legend laterly applied to the "green'un", I'd be most chuffed.
just a quick question so I understand, no fictional skins I understand, but what about the French skins? It's a British plane in French clothes, how does that stand? I have a Portuguese skin to. If it's just the Brits, that's dandy, just don't want to try and upload the others if not allowed.
Don't get me wrong, I fully respect the non-fiction thing, no biggie, I didn't mean to cause any drama. All Iwant to do is find a nice site that talks about the Aviation I'm interested in, ie. mainly British. I do like Canadian too, they do have De Havilland after all
