Hi

On my first flight of the A2-45 it did not fly as i would have expected . on switching to spot view it became
clear as to why . The control surfaces flutter when there is an input from yoke or rudder pedals then return to neutral. As a check i down loaded the Husky it flew perfectly just like the other Austers i have down loaded.

Fortunately 'Wirlwind' I can offer you a simple, yet effective solution to your problem.
You will find it in the main section of the A2/45 files entitled "
WARNING-CONTROL-LOCK-README 1ST.txt" !
I trust this will work to your satisfaction. BTW - it's modelled like the one on the original aircraft.

How does the saying go "no fool like an old fool " The first and only computer course i went on before i retired the instructor wrote on the black board RTFS . in this case i should have RTFI !!!!
My first flight was in an Auster from Ipswich airport the pilots was Stan Ward that was along time ago i was
15 i am 71 now

Thanks for taking my 'advise' in good humour Richard .You are not alone - there's more than one of our crack beta-tester team here who did exactly the same thing even after we'd discussed the lock in detail on our in-house design forum.
Funny that - I too was 15 when I took my first Auster flight - off Cleethorpes beach back when the world was young in '55.

Of course that was 1855 and the Orster was preceded by a Gentleman's Gentleman with a red flag. That's why they cruise so slowly, one doesn't want servants breaking into an undignified run.

You'd be surprised how far you can fly in an A2 with the controls locked......

Would be interested to see them, especially G-AIZY as that is now with us at Eggesford - well the remains of it as when it was rebuilt in the 80s, it suffered a slight taxiing accident and whilst the owner went home to collect his tools, local children came and vandalised it. Remains ended up in a technical college in Bristol and she's now in retirement in Devon.

By the way Ipswich used to be the distant land away for Luton Flying Clubs long solo corss country
so IJI, GXH and IGT were regular visitors in the 50s and 60s
