One other thing... I downloaded the scylla and the syrinx textures from this site. It appears the plane is still version 1 but the syrinx textures are for version 2.1 which i just got from flightsim.

OK Guys,
I have attempted to install the repaint myself and GaryJ is correct - there are seven texture files in Jens' original and sixteen in the repaint. The file names are different also. I tried for an experiment to reduce the repaint texture files to match Jens' and renamed them in line with Jens' filenames. This produced the repaint OK but the lining up on the starboard fuselage side was all wrong. I can only conclude (not being a builder) that the repainter has changed the original model file also! Without the new model file the repaint will not work. Jens' original model file does not reference the new texture bmp files.
I am surprised no one else has noticed or maybe they just binned it as I have now done!

There are indeed errors in the Syrinx texture folder. They are -
1. - Fuselage_S17.bmp is missing (textures the engine cowls) copy & paste from Scylla normal texture folder.
2. - Some textures are named incorrectly - remove the _T suffix from Fuselage_S17L_T.bmp , Metallic_T.bmp , Lower_wing_T.bmp, tail_T.bmp , Upper_wing_T.bmp . You should then see the textured aircraft
However you will see that the starboard texture does not align correctly with the fuselage - this and other misalignment errors would take more work to correct and I certainly feel disinclined to tamper with another's work..
I'm surprised that these problems were not noticed when checking before publication .

This is my fix

install version 2.1 named: s17l_v21.zip

make a copy of the texture folder and rename it to 'texture.syrinx'

Then copy these files from the syrinx texture folder: s17l_syr.zip

Fuselage_S17L_T.bmp
Lower wing_T.bmp
Upper wing_T.bmp

paste them into your new texture.syrinx folder then add this to your aircraft.cfg
