Hi Guys

I, like most other simmers, have a list of aircraft that I would like to see produced, and, before I get told to build one myself, I can paint but I can't build.

So this is the list, in no particular order although one or two may have you scratching your head. Some of these just may appeal to someone with the talent to build them.

I'm amazed that there is no DH84 Dragon or Beagle Pup for fs2004, but my favorites would be the Dragon, the Foster Wikner Wicko, and the Miles M.100 Student.

Well that can give us a few ideas for the future, but don't hold your breath for that long as it takes me at least 4 to 5 months for each of my creations!

As it happens, there's a few on it which are also on my 'to-do' list. Oh, and I'm an FS9 builder.
BTW you'll find a Shorts Scion of mine already in the library.
However, as Keith says 'don't hold your breath' because any model will take at least a few months of full-time - equivalent work to make.
I've currently got a new build in progress, but after that, ...

The list is basically a wish list. Unfortunately I'd overlooked Molyned's Scion in the library. Sorry about that.

Only time will tell what it will generate.

And if the list isn't long enough, how about the Simmonds Spartan, Spartan Cruiser, and the Blackburn Bluebird. The latter was the B2's parent, and was immortalised by the Hon Mrs Victor Bruce, who saw one in a shop, bought it, learnt to fly, and with 40 hours in her logbook set off to circumnavigate the world (the folding wings came in very handy for shipping across the Pacific and the Atlantic).
Also, what about the Curry-Wot, in it's various iterations, including the very hairy turboprop experiment (they had to use the slipstream of a Spitfire to spool it up, and it flew just a single circuit, before landing and being changed back to a relatively sane Hot Wot)?

One major factor which influences a decision to build for the sim, is the availability of sufficient information about the interior to make a good fist of it. There are usually plenty of photos & drawings of the exterior.

I design and paint colour schemes for virtual airlines. I also do repaints for my own amusement and when a colour scheme appeals to me. This does not mean I want to be inundated by repaint requests, although if you talk to me nicely, and the aircraft is a good'un, then we'd have to talk about it some more.

Rather than fly the heavy metal that I repaint for the VA's, I usually fly a T-6 Harvard, a Van's RV-6, a Beech Duchess, a DHC-6 Twin Otter or a HS748. dependant on where I'm going. I'm always on the lookout for something a little different though.

I've just delivered a HS748 to a large Canadian Group of VA's and occasionally work for a Dutch VA.

The list was inspired by a browse through some 1938/9 data sheets that I had stored in my loft Some aircraft listed in the data sheets have already been modelled. Aircraft like the Cygnet, the Moth Minor, and the Miles Kestrel (referred to in the data sheet as the "Miles Rolls Royce Trainer") have already been done, but I thought one of the excellent modellers on this list might just find one or two aircraft to inspire them. If any aircraft are taken up then the list will have been worthwhile.

Sorry to go on but you did ask...

A very interesting list, I'm also surprised that some of those have never surfaced.

In terms of reference material, the two that I'd be most interested in seeing from that list are both with the Shuttleworth Collection, so can still be seen in the wild - that is the Avro Tutor and the Blackburn B-2 of course.

Can I add one of my own choices to this mythical list please; many moons ago Rick Piper was working on an Anson C21, but that project sadly never saw the light of day. A 'high roofed' Anson would be a joy to see, and would certainly find a home in my nascent MEAF project.

As far as I'm concerned you can add your list.

I guess this will be where folks can put ideas to inspire the modelling listers amongst us.

And yes, a high roofed Anson would be nice.

Nowt like Griffon grunt

For anyone that likes Griffon grunt,here's a snippet for you:

A fellow has asked me if I could possibly test some extensive modifications
to an existing flight model for another chap.

Both the chaps in question have done some superb work on other stuff I've
tested for them,so I have no doubts that these extensive modifications
will turn a very nice looker into something very nice and accurate to fly
and "sit" in.

If it all comes off,you chaps here will get to know pretty quickly once it's ready to
be released.
