Mostly as I'm getting to grips with my new camera but also as I haven't posted shots of these before here are some non flying classic Brits.









The camera is a Nikon P6000 I spent a lot of time choosing it as I wanted something with the control over exposure and focusing of a DSLR but without the size and weight. I've not had the chance to manually focus or set aperture since my Olympus OM2 which I still own but never use.

The Chieftain is by Airfix, the Valentine is a lovely model by Italeri and the Mark IV by Emhar.

I believe Phlash has commanded each of these vehicles in his time.

The Cheiftain is one of my all-time favorites(yes I know,crap engine and gearbox),
I'd love to get my paws on a 1/16th rc one.

One of the blokes on RCTankwars has thrashed an Aussie Cent out of an HL
Pershing,but I don't think a Cheify would come out of one.
If it would though,I'd have a Berlin Brigade jobbie.

BTW,the Tiger's in bits again,not broken but having some strengthening work done
on the lower hull.
It flexes a bit(crappy Chinky plastics),so fitting some support bracing will help
the suspension to work better and lessen the chances of throwing a track.

I think the Chieftain's a good looker too.

I believe the Airfix model (as is common with Airfix) is of a prototype or pre-production model and the production ones had some differences.

I've no idea what the differences might be though.

I hope Sean will tell us . . . . . If he's still speaking to us that is.

I've sat in a wreckage of a Mark IV... I was told it was hot, noisy and one couldn't see a thing, once inside.... Great models Jon... Yes the chieftain is a great model. I even think it was one of the first tanks I did build.

I heard a description of being inside a MKIV and it sounded absolutely horrible.

Probably better than being on the outside of one during WWI though.

better not in northern France or Belgium in that period...

there are still people wounded or killed today by exploding ammo thats found in the fields. And france still has some depots left from that horrible time with musterdgas
