My pc is still acting about and won't run Fs at any price,so modelling is definitely on the cards at the
moment.

Mine is now fully painted and decalled,just doing the "fiddly" bits now,undercart,cannon,
aerials,that sort of thing.
When I can get my mitties on the lad's camera I'll take some snaps of her.

both livery's are great Mark... My Fieseler has only a engine and a cockpit at the mo... not in a hurry

Which model are you using Mark?

I've got the new Airfix 1/72 Spitfire IX and fully expect to build it as JEJ just for old times sake.

When this might be is anybody's guess.

A good kit to use but I had to clone the cockpit out of the Mk.XIX as the IX hasn't one, I've used the kit wings and converted them to 'e' wings from 'c' wings. I also used a resin broad chord rudder that was kindly supplied by Miggers and opened up the canopy and access door. For the overall silver scheme I used Humbrol metaliser matt aluminium and applied with a brush, this went on beautifully and has given the model a great finish.
At present I am building Hurricane IIc LF363 from the Academy kit and Spit XIX PS915 as The Last from the new Airfix kit, so as you can see I've got something to keep me busy.
I think Miggers could have a PR Spit conversion in the pipe line so keep your eyes open for that one.

The new Airfix IX John,'tis a good'un for the money.

As our Edgeler says though,it hasn't got a 'pit.
I used an Academy 'pit in mine,opened the door and have a Pavla vacform
canopy so that I can have the hood open.

Our kid is right too about the PR.
I've mated the PR.XIX's bowser wing to the IX's fuselage and with a
resin insert for the deeper cowling,come up with a PR.XI to be done as PL965/R.

I've also mated the Mk IX's wing to the PR.XIX's fuselage to come up with
an XIVc.
That should come out as Roll's old Spit,G-ALGT,but wearing her late 60's civvies.

The PR.XI is about ready for priming,the XIVc needs the elevators dropping and
the tailplanes and rudder fitting,cockpit door scribing in and the canopy fitting yet.

I do like Academy's 1/72 kits, they seem to suit my level of incompetence.

I enjoyed building the Hurricane and a P47 Bubbletop. The decals aren't so good though, I had to buy some for the Thunderbolt. I've got an Academy Typhoon Ib waiting to be built as well.

The Academy Tiffie is a cracking kit and is probably the best in 1/72 scale

Edgeler did the Academy Tiff and a Tempest last year.He bought 'em at Crewe show
when we visited(we both went home with a bag full of goodies and both had our arses kicked by
our respective "Bosses" ),he said how good they were.

I reckon we petition him to put up some mug shots of 'em both .

Academy kits are nice Jon,their Spit XIV is very well detailed but distinctly "tubby"
from the cockpit forward when put alongside another 1/72nd Spit.

I'll be over with Clive's Spit in the next couple of weeks Edge,but I've got to get
a computer jockey in to sort this bloody thing out so's it'll run Fs and behave itself!!!.
I'll shove those Tremblers 'Toom decs in my pocket for you too.
That way I can have a rumage in your decs box for some 4" inch white to do PL965.
