The big Sea Vixen.................

#30994 2 years, 5 months ago
from Airfix in 1/48th scale is out:

cgi.ebay.co.uk/Airfix-1-48-Sea-Vixen-FAW...;hash=item27b6d807bd

According to some of the Britmodeller mob,it's a good'un.

I think I need a word in Santa's earhole.

Pretty pronto too.

That me old fruit pudding,is exactly the thought that crossed my mind too.

One of the decal options is XP924,but as she is now in her 899 colours.
That doesn't rule out doing it in the D.3 scheme though,it's only the
serials for the booms and the destruct warning triangles for the fins that'd have to be found.

The rest should come from the kit's own decals.

Dont forget XS577 also wore the Blood & Custard! Pity she ended up in pieces. She was also droned - but only in analogue version whereas 924 was PCM (digital) wired.
BTW I thought that the APs for them stated they were D4's - might be wrong of course its a long time ago!

I bought a copy of the new Airfix Model World magazine, from a newsagents in Milan, and that has an article on the history of the Sea Vixen and another build article. It does look nice from the pictures.

I thought it was made just for you Mark.

I wish it was Jon.

The Sea Vicky is one of my all time favorites.

Airfix's was going to be an Airfix Cub limited release, but they've realised what a
winner they have on their hands and so it's on general release.

Another to look out for in the New Year is their Seafire XVII in 1/48th.
They've been over to Northolt and had their tape measure around Tim Manna's
gorgeous SX366.

Lucky the Vixen is out just in time for Christmas.

I was thinking of joining the Airfix club next year as I quite fancy the Mig 15/Sabre combination.
