Clive's Spit...

#32718 2 years, 2 months ago
Remember I was doing that new Airfix IX as the BBMF's IXe,MK356?

Clive Rowley gave his last BBMF display in her back in 2007.
She was in her wartime 443 Hornet Sqn RCAF colours at the time and Clives'solo
signing off display was widely reckoned to be the best one ever seen at Coningsby.

So here she is,MK356 of the BBMF,my tribute to a fine pilot,a top bloke and that
superb Spitfire;

Not quite OOB,she's had her tips clipped,sports a resin XVIe rudder,CMR prop
and three spoke wheels to match MK's look at the time.

That's nice Mark.

The Airfix Spit IX is one of the possibilities for my next build. I'm looking for something quick and simple so it will probably be OOB and in the JEJ scheme for nostalgia's sake. I don't remember the first kit I built but the old Airfix Spitfire IX must have been one of the first.

Thanks boys.

She's 1/72nd Jan.

The next conversion based on the Airfix IX is nearly done.

It'll be finished as this fantastically sexy animal:
