sad sight

The C-47 was allready removed to be restored (new painting, silver with new registration, so I did my rebuild in 1/72 invain)

But now even the Neptune looks like a wreck (if it wasn't allready) waiting for transport to be restored too. All the exhibits will be restored (good news) nut the bad news is: the won't be shown in public before 2017 when the new museum opens. Lucky for me I have the key for the crashgate that opens the hangar-doors of the depot as well

Phew!!

She's seen better days.
Where's she going to be restored Jan?
Thought she could have been done on site TBH.

Cosford's example is ex-Netherlands Navy too(presented to the Museum in 1976),
but she's in pretty good condition after having a re-paint a couple of years ago.

As an aside(I bet you'd like one in your collection Jan),the ex-Frog now Hasegawa
1/72nd scale kit is pretty good.
I have one in deep storage that I built back in 1985,it's big,but yeah,it makes a nice model.

Mark,

all restoring is done by QAPS at Schiphol. It is the former paint-division of Fokker. The did the C-47, F-27 troopship and the F-15 allready. After that they were put in storage. So those beauties are gone for a couple of years.

No Neptune for me yet as I still have to finish the breguet

totally agree Keith,

the volunteers at the museum are great people. passionate with general aviation, but the militairy staff doesn't concern about the well being of the statics outside. I've been in the Neptune a year ago. Its a shame... and the line up from the 32nd Wolfhounds, most of the planes are repainted the wrong way. The airforce even refused a free (!) F4 from the Greek airforce to complete the line up...
