Seafire SX336 emergency belly landing in France

#34195 1 year, 10 months ago
A report in this morning from Ben Gilbert that SX336 made a wheels up landing at Bondues near Lille, France, yesteday 2nd July.

Pilot(Anna Walker, yes Martin, that Anna Walker) is unhurt. Damage minimal and about as light as it can get in these circumstances.

Anna has made a superb wheels up landing there.
No information as to the problem as yet.
Clearly from the photographs, the undercart wouldn't lower at all(tail wheel still up and it's
doors are closed),so maybe a burst hydraulic pipe?.
I'm not sure whether the emergency blow-down system is fitted and active to SX,
but if it is a hydraulic problem, then I'm not sure if it'd work.

The main thing is that Anna is ok and that SX isn't badly damaged.
