keeping an eye on the temp gauge is quite a job, how did they shoot down all those 109's and 10, 111 etc...?

I already have the earlier A2A Spitfire 1 which is good but this looks brilliant. Just watched the video on A2A's site. My favourite early Spits as well.

I doubt if I can resist this for long.

Thanks for the heads up Jan.

ALERT!,ALERT!,Anorak moment coming!!! .

P7308 is Bill Dunn's Mk IIa whilst he was with No 71(Eagle) Sqn at North Weald,August 1941.

She'd been with 74,54 and 308 Sqn's before going to 71 and Bill Dunn.

She was damaged whilst on a combat with Bill "driving" by early Bf109F's at
the end of the month.
She was then converted into a Va whilst in for repairs and flew with 133,421,
164 and 402 before ending her days with the main Spit OTU,No 61 in July of '43.

I reckon that Ocean Grey is wrong,it should be Dark Earth.
The AM order for Ocean Grey didn't come in until October '41 when the RAF,
as Sholto Douglas put it,"Began leaning into France" with those early
Rhubarb ops pioneered by Bob Tuck whilst he was on 257 Sqn.

That looks a very nice Spit though.
I'm not a lover of the early Spits, the Merlin VIII/ IX/XVI series and then the big
Griffons light my fire.
I find early Spits a bit too twitchy and finicky and yes Jan,very prone to
overheating.
